About Me

Hi! My name is Jairus and I am from the Philippines!

I am a Catholic of Latin Rite and I am very grateful that I belong to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

I am very much interested in desert spirituality. The hermits and anchorites always fascinate me. I've been allured to the desert! Among the hermits, I admire Blessed Charles de Foucauld most. Like Bl. Charles, I admire Saint Teresa of Avila.

I am fond of reading the lives of Saints. Actually it's through reading their biographies that I got converted spiritually. I also read books on Prayer and Spirituality. Favorites? The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis, The Story of a Soul by St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Poustinia by Catherine Doherty and The Ancrene Riwle. I would love to read Teresa of Avila and Louis de Montfort.

of the Lipa Cathedral
Like the peeps of my age, I love music. I love our folk music. I became a member of a cultural band, playing angklung, when I was in elementary. This made me appreciate our native music more. We also performed Catholic hymns. I listen to John Michael Talbot, Danielle Rose, and Karl Kohlhase (I wonder how do we pronounce his surname).I also listen to Motown Soul, Jazz, Blues and Gospel.

When I am not in school, probably you'll find me in front of the computer (FYI I'm trying to spend less time in the Internet) or reading at our porch. I participate at Phatmass Phorum.

So here you go! I hope you'll enjoy reading my posts! Take care and God bless! Que Dios te bendiga! Pagpalain kayo ng Diyos!
